Our Mission

~QUICK CLICKS~

The St. Francis of Assisi community is a welcoming Christian family. We believe in Jesus Christ, and are guided by the Holy Spirit and the example of St. Francis. We gather to celebrate, to grow in the knowledge of our faith rooted in the Catholic tradition, and to recognize our responsibility to reach out to the world.        Mass Times & Ash Wednesday

Welcome!

Recently, the Archdiocese of Chicago began a program of invitation. This invitation effort called, Catholics Come Home, was offered through a series of TV "spots" inviting Catholics who may have drifted from their faith to consider Coming Home.

If those spots or other invitations have brought you to our website, WELCOME! We want you to join us and experience the life of faith at St. Francis.

St. Francis of Assisi is located in Western Orland Park at 151st and Wolf Rd. We are a young parish; we just celebrated our 19th Anniversary. Our mission statement begins, "We are a Welcoming Christian Community. "

Join us for Sunday Liturgy! That is all you need do – be with us and participate in the faith that is your religious heritage.

If you want more information about the parish, check this website; in the Narthex of the Church you will find a Welcome Table with information about St. Francis.

If you have a personal concern, a question about our faith that you would like to discuss in detail, feel free to call me, Fr. John my Associate Pastor, Sr. Bernard our Pastoral Associate, or our Deacons Joe Truesdale and Dan Carroll.

If you are interested in religious education for your children, we have a regional Catholic school Cardinal Bernardin; a parish religious education program conducted in our beautiful St. Francis Center, Children’s Liturgy of the Word held during the 9:00 and 10:30 Masses.

We really never leave home; just travel a while. Welcome Home!

In St. Francis,

Rev. Edward F. Upton, Pastor

Jesus, savior and center of our faith,

draw all people to share the life

of your body, the Church.

Mary, mother of the Lord and mother

of the Church, help us to welcome

all those who have been away.

Joseph, guide and guardian of the

Holy Family, inspire us to be

faithful witnesses to our

life in Christ.

o Holy Family, pray that we may learn

to welcome, serve and support

all who come to share

in our family of faith.

Amen.
