Due to newly implemented government regulations in all hospitals, parishes will NOT be informed of any parishioner's hospitalization NOR will that information be available to any visiting clergy and/or parish visitor. It is strictly YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to let us know of your hospitalization. A hospital can notify us ONLY IF YOU specifically request this AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

Rosary of Life

Please join us as we pray the Rosary of Life on the first Saturday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Church. Our next Rosary date is December 6, 2008.

We certainly want to continue praying for and supporting those who are ill. Please don't feel it is a bother to inform us. You are important to us. Our Ministers of Care are available to bring Eucharist to the homebound during recuperation or extended illnesses. Please call Sr. Bernard at 460-0042 to arrange for this.

The Helping Hands Committee is assisting with "Project Linus", a nationwide ongoing effort to provide security through homemade blankets to seriously ill or traumatized children. An ideal blanket is new, any size, washable, and made with child-friendly colors. Fringe or strips of material hanging down are discouraged, as they may become caught in hospital equipment. Consider making a blanket to donate to the "Project Linus" chapter in Tinley Park. Contact the parish office for contact information.    return to top

POLAR EXPRESS Movie Night & Social
Save the date! Saturday, November 29 at 5:15 Mass POLAR EXPRESS Social and Movie Night in the Parish Hall.  (with a visit for the children from a special guest!!) Watch the bulletin for details.

We're appealing to your sweet tooth!
The "Occasional Volunteers" of the Catholic Charities @ St. Francis sub-committee are hoping to 'treat" children to a goody bag this Halloween.

We need YOUR help with donations of individually wrapped candies. The candy you donate will be used to fill goody bags for the children in area shelters, who attend local supper programs and food pantries and those children who reside within the New Hope apartment programs.

So . . . be on the look-out for Snickers and Lollipops and Bubble gum, etc. and bring all that you can carry to the basket right outside the church office. To get the job done, we'll need 500 bags of candy. Let's "treat" these children to a wonderful Halloween.

Thank you in advance for your generosity,
debi Ross
